Geeks like me who would like to talk about smartphones should read here....
by AllTimeJeff inone of my passions in life unaffected from my jw exit is electronics.
lately, my focus is on smartphones..... i got an iphone the day it came out, and reupped for 2 more years with the 3g (not the 3gs).
some days i wish i got the 3gs for the better processor, but the 3g is faster and slimmer in my hand.

I just purchased the 32g. version of the 3Gs for 299 on a 3 year contract, haven't seen an 8g. version of that phone.
The 3G 8g. goes for 99 on a contract.
There are some interesting apps. for this phone, apparently 100,000 and counting.

I would have to agree with you , I recently got an Iphone 3GS for personal use and I like it a lot, in my opinion
the Iphone is a great multi-media phone, but as a good phone for a business purposes the Blackberries might be a better choice.
I have heard that down in the States people are having problems with ATT , but up here in Canada we have totality different providers.
Checked out the Palm Pre and it was on top of the list of phones to purchase but I found the small keyboard to be a bit cumbersome
( have large hands ) So if I were working in a office /business environment where employees were texting and e-mailing frequently to one another
and a multi-media aspect was unimportant I would definably choose a full sized Blackberry.

I had a REALLY big first in my life today!!!.....
by oompa inbeen kinda bummed for a few...and a newer nondub friend said i should go to church with him and his wife today...he called me last night about it....so it was not far and i knew nothing about it...but my friend and i are a lot alike....so showed up...it rocked!!
!...everybody had jeans on including the preacher with his shirt untucked...he was lively and funny and real....there were some skits that screamed district convention to me but they were way funnier and better acted....and even though i totally tuned out to most of the sermon part and all the jesus stuff.........the band freakin rocked!...the music was incredible!....just great talent....i told my buddy we should go tell the preacher that not only did he get a newbie in the door...but that it was someone who had never been to church in his entire life!!!.
i went just for social reasons........and there are prob great babe opportunities there....lol.....but it was a good morning and we went to lunch.....it was a great day!!

Getting down with Jesus is definitely hipper in some of the modern churches out there.
Everything is quite casual and relaxed and may prove to be a good place to make a social connection.
Don't go to fast Oompa, pace yourself now .

single life and oompa steppin out....
by oompa inmy cool dfd son and i are now soooo frikkin close....god i love him to death....he is 24 and really finding his groove and i never shunned him a sec since he was dfd at 17 anyway...but omg the bond we are now having....and he is so glad i am out on my own and being true to myself.
he invited me to a big party a couple of weeks ago....posted about it with cool pics on facebook....a delayed wedding reception for a couple and a going away as well since they are moving of continent....she used to work for me and what a club i found at the party....she is dfd...husband...all friends...my son....even a coulple of old biz partners of mine were there from a crazy lil biz we started once..........in all there were over 30 former dubs at this kickass rocking beautiful party!!!!!.
and there were even 4 dubs there....real slacker...nonjudgemental friends........ahhhhhhh it was a small club and a great time.

do you turn against all religion or do you find another?
people say they're happy when they leave...that they feel free, but i'd hate to think that people give up on everything religious.. if you do stay religious, how many doctrines of the jws do you retain?
